The Beginning of New Beginnings
Well, here I am.. 26 years-old and about to move across Canada by myself, well not entirely by myself, I will have the help of my 2 cats, Meeko and Flit, and my dog, Noelle. This is going to be a once in a lifetime experience, so I figured why not pick now to start a blog documenting my 52 hours on the road (spread over 5 days)!
My Background Story: I have been offered a dream job up in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories that has resulted in my uprooting my entire life in London, Ontario to start a fresh, new life in Yellowknife! (or so we hope…).
Having been obsessed with animals since a young age, I have adopted my 3 pets over the years. Leaving them behind was not an option considering we are a family unit, they are not just my pets. Noelle, my dog, is my ride or die! She was my Grade 8 graduation present and is now 14.5 years old! Meeko (5 years) and Flit (4 years) are my two cats that have been on quite a few road trips with me (Ontario based only). The three of us are now committed to completing a 52 hour long trek with will encompass 4 Provinces (Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchwan, Alberta and one Territory – NorthWest). Oh, how the nerves have started kicking in on me – SLEEP BRAIN SLEEP!!!!!!
Unfortunately, the blog will be pretty slow until my travel day comes around, but I will be periodically posting updates on how I’m feeling or what I’ve found out about traveling long distance in a small car with more animals than people, I hope you find it helpful and interesting!! On top of this, I will also document my first 6 months in Yellowknife (and perhaps longer), providing at least 2 posts per week (one for a catch up in my life and one for something new and unique I learned!). Until then … PLEASE FOR MY SANITY COMMENT RECOMMENDED PLAYLISTS!!!! and PLEASE forgive me because I find long distance travel hacks with cats to be beyond interesting to read – so bare with me on these points, they will not all be about how I sprayed lavender everywhere to relax my cat.
